Choose carefully! Because each platform appeals to different demographic and presents a certain image on your brand!

Social media is a powerful tool in Vietnam, where platforms like Facebook, Instagram, and Zalo dominate the landscape.

But consider your platform carefully as each platform targets a different audience and it will affect your brand equity and perception in the market.


  • Facebook: With over 70 million users in Vietnam, Facebook is the go-to platform for businesses to engage with consumers. Brands can use Facebook for targeted advertising, building communities, and sharing content. Facebook’s robust advertising features allow businesses to reach specific demographics, making it easier to connect with potential customers. The main target audience for Facebook?  Everyone but largely dominated by the middle class and below.

  • Zalo: This local messaging app has gained immense popularity, boasting over 60 million users.     While Zalo is largely used for communications like Whatsapp, it's ads can be riddled with scams. For this reason our clients avoid advertising on Zalo unless it's an FMCG product or a very commonly used B2C product like an umbrella, snacks, daily use products.

Conclusion

The paramount concern is to advertise in Vietnamese where possible and not in English! English literacy in Vietnam is not high and you will find you still need an interpreter in Vietnam as compared to other South East Asian countries to discuss business.


Be careful in choosing your  platform as the Internet does not forget thus placing on certain platforms might hold a negative to your brand.
